Imam Feisal’s Letter to the Editor of the New York Times: The Modern Arab State

Responding to the article “Activists in Arab World Vie to Define Islamic State,” which appeared in the New York Times on September 30, 2011, Imam Feisal wrote a small piece on how modern Arab states may embrace both secular and religious governing traditions.

Imam Feisal writes, “Islamic good governance will play a major role in bridging religious and secular political parties by focusing on how Islam promotes the state‚Äôs responsibility to its citizens, regardless of gender, religion or ideology.”
